What the site provides

The site publishes free guides and tutorials about rock painting for general information and personal enjoyment. We work to keep the instructions clear and accurate, but we do not guarantee that every guide is free of errors or that you will get a particular result by following it.

Safety

Rock painting is a low-risk craft, but projects on the site mention paints, paint pens, sealers, spray products and occasionally craft knives. Read the label of every product before you use it and follow the manufacturer’s instructions for ventilation, drying, cleanup, storage and use by children. Children should be supervised by an adult. Painted rocks are decorative objects: they are not toys for young children, they can be a choking or throwing hazard, and they are not meant for aquariums or for contact with food.

The guides make no promise that any paint or sealer is waterproof, weatherproof or permanent. How a painted rock holds up, especially outdoors, depends on the products, the stone and the conditions. If you collect rocks or leave painted rocks outdoors, check the local rules first and get permission where it is needed; collecting is not allowed in many parks and protected areas. You are responsible for deciding whether a project is suitable for you or for a child in your care.
